| The Historic Reeds Building was home to the Reed's Department store since the late 1800s. It was, at one time, the largest store of its kind in Richland County. The changing economic development slowly saw a departure to the "downtown" of most cities and the Reed's store was not immune to this change, and finally closed its doors in the early 1990s. Sitting dormant for over a decade, The Sweet Basil Eatery fell in love with the charm of the "Grand Dame" of downtown Mansfield and decided to call the building our home. We hope you'll come and visit us and look at our beautiful establishment, our wonderful Viking display kitchen where we film our popular TV show "The Plentiful Kitchen" and our friendly staff is waiting to make your visit a memorable one. |
